Service on Ardgrein. February 21 1677.

Special service of Thomas Forbes as nearest heir to his father Mr. John Forbes of Watertown in... the lands of Ardgrein and Broomfield with the multures sequells... and pertinents thereof lying in the parish of Ellon and sheriffdom of Aberdeen with the hereditary constable of Aberdeen and all the privileges liberties and profits and commodities belonging to that office with... the tithes of the lands of Carmucks Borrowley Watishill Kirkhill mill lands of the same Clayhills Fyvie lands and crofts of Ellon with the... pertinents lying in the parish of Ellon and sheriffdom of Aberdeen and also in... the lands of Knappernay with the dominical lands of the mains the manor place... and pertinents with the mill of Knappernay mill lands astricted multures and knaveships of the same and the lands of Tillienaid as well the sunny and the shady half with the... pertinents of the same lying in the parish of Logiebuchan and sheriffdom of Aberdeen and also in... the salmon fishing on the water of Ythan as well in the fishings of the cruives as by boat and net... within the bounds following vis. beginning at Machterfoord on the said water and ascending thereon to Seggiefoord of Fyvie with all... the privileges... of said fishings with free entry and exit lying of old within the barony of Ogilvie by annexation and sheriffdom of Aberdeen and also these four rigs lof land called Pattons ying within the territory of Ellon with... ... incorporated into one free and whole barony called the barony of Ardgrein in all time coming according to royal charter the said Mr. John Forbes of Watertown of the date 4 August 1669.
